Regional School Readiness Benchmarks
First Things First is one of many partners with a role to play in building and sustaining an effective early childhood system in Arizona and achieving our shared vision – that all of our young children arrive in kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed.
These partners worked together to identify Arizona’s School Readiness Indicators, which include statewide benchmarks and goals for the year 2020 to track our progress toward achieving measureable, long-term results for children.
Each First Things First regional partnership council has identified at least three of the statewide school readiness indicators to prioritize based on the unique characteristics and needs of the community each serves. Now, most regional councils have reached a key stage in strategic planning by proposing local-level benchmarks for their priority school readiness indicators. These regional benchmarks will serve as another method, together with other evaluation and research studies, to monitor and measure progress and impacts of First Things First investments and all efforts in Arizona’s early childhood system.

Community stakeholders and members of FTF regional partnership councils listed below are invited to share your views on the proposed benchmarks for your regional council. Your feedback will be considered by regional councils in determining the final benchmarks to recommend to the First Things First Board in June 2014.
